I am soooo beyond frustrated with Blogspot like I said before. I thought I would give her one more try but no go. I'm done. So just so you know the reason behind the lack of posts.... I can't bear to spend anymore time with blogspot. New for Septemeber..... NEW BLOG... NEW LOGO. I'm having my logo professionally designed and I'm sooooo excited for this because I don't have to think about it and change it a million times. Lots of new things to come. Yes. It's me again. I'm really a dork. I take pictures of me. I usually don't get ready everyday, just throw on some comfy capris and a shirt and my hat, love my hat. This morning after getting ready for church- I forced my husband to come and take this picture of me. I was trying out some new lighting set up. After a few pictures I was like "don't you love it? Taking pictures?!" He was like "no", "can I be done now? ". This was after like 30 seconds. At least I got one. I'm still working on my new blog. I really don't enjoy computer junk- oh man, tutorial after tutorial.... It will be at least a couple of weeks before it get this thing up and running.

So these are some Cahoon's... there are LOT's!!! Paul and Tanya Cahoon were called to be Mission Presidents for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Perth, Austrailia! (my spell check says I'm spelling that wrong but it looks right to me-I'm the worst at spelling)

They are there for 3 years. I'm very excited for them. Even more exciting is that they have a 5 bedroom house over there and and if we are really nice to them, maybe we can stay with them and visit. Loved this session. Crazy chaos with all the kids... but great fun. This is the last time they will all be together for a LOOONNNGGG time.... it is weird to think how many more kiddies there will be in 3 years. Erin, Ben??? There are more pics to come from individual fams.

They have this song (that my kids now sing) and it goes as follows "shake your little butt, butt, butt.... shake your little butt, butt, butt" and they laugh sooo hard. It sounds dumb but it is sooo cute- the first few times :)

April and I worked together as Radiation Therapists at the Cross Cancer Institute (yes, way back in the day before my kids when I used to work). I feel so blessed to be able to stay at home with my children; although, some days I'm sure it would be a nice break to go to work. You are guys are going to have a hard time choosing. Les, I found this beauty as I was putting your images up onto my website for you to view. Hello Hot Momma! It is snowing today. I'm not happy about it. I am also not happy that I just ran out to save my trees from the wet, heavy snow and I slipped twice. Once on my butt sooooo hard and then the next time about 5 seconds later on my knees but I completely twisted my knee. I wanted to cry but felt pathetic so I came limping in like I had been beaten up and whined to Jordan. Go away snow- holy- it is may.

This is CUTE CUTE Olivia. She did not crack one smile for me but I'm ok with that. Her serious look is beautiful. She was probably thinking... "that lady with that black thing in her hand that keeps jumping up and down is CRAZY".... I get that a lot. Hey, I have to do what I have to do. Hope you guys enjoy!

Jordan's Staff and Baby Parley

My husband Jordan just recently bought a dental practice in Camrose, Alberta and I've just taken pictures of his staff and their kids to put up around the office. Look at how adorable they all are and so cooperative too. Ainsley- the little red headed girl was happy as long as I promised that she could open my garage door at home. ???? Funny. She LOVES IT! It is the funniest thing.

Don't ask me. My kids think I'm hilarious but really, I'm not funny. They make me feel good because they laugh until they have to pee their pants. Looking at these pictures, I can hear their cute little giggles. I don't ever want to forget that sound. They are growing up too fast and I'm enjoying their moments (well, most of them).

So I got VERY spoiled for Mother's Day this year. My husband (and kids) are such sweet guys and got me a new Canon 5D Mark II AND a 50mm L series 1.2 ANNNNNNDDDD a Canon photo printer. Holy, was not expecting all of this. I've been wanting new lense for a looooonnnngg time. The other Sunday I woke up before church and I looked pretty hot (I showered the night before and slept on my hair with no gel). He dared me to go to church with no makeup and with my hair looking like the way it did and he would buy me new camera stuff. I don't think he thought I would do it but I was totally in - hey, wouldn't you for new camera stuff? He totally took back his offer-lame and so I didn't have to go to church and make a fool of myself.

So a little about my camera- it comes from a very loved home. It has been used for professional use only. I bought it from Mcbain Camera November 2007 for $1349.00. The best offer I get takes it. I want only a few more days in Vancouver! My husband, Shoal, and I went for a Dental Conference. Well, really my husband went to learn and I went to have fun. It was soooo beautiful. Don't get me wrong, I've heard it was super warm here while we were gone this weekend but we do not have the lush greenery and fresh flowers and amazing pink flowered trees that Vancouver has right now. I was VERY jealous. Simply beautiful. So are these girls. Holy, check them out! I LOVE taking pictures and it was such a treat to be able to photograph each one of these girls (especially in a different city). I feel that it is so important to capture those expressions and personalities of each person, even if they feel awkward (which most people do). Well, this is what I see in you girls, from my eyes. Gorgeous. It actually rained the WHOLE time durning these shoots. I guess that happens in Vancouver.... hence the lush greenery. Can you tell? It was a little crazy in the morning as I had my baby in the stroller, my baby around my neck (yes my camera), and trying to juggle walking with the stroller, holding my camera under my coat, and holding my umbrella. I was sweating. I was not going to let the rain ruin my shoots. We made it work. There are TONS more to come. I feel like a kid in a candy store.... so many good ones choose from. AHHH...

My sister in laws came to stay with us while their parents were on vacation. It was awesome!! They helped me cook, take care of my kids, mop... do you really have to go home? Fun to take pictures of them... so easy to. Beautiful girls.

I think I'm really ready for Spring, Actually Summer. I took my nieces out for a shoot today and it was cold and windy. Poor things. My shoot lasted umm about 2 minutes. I'm so mean. I made them wear these outfits (and I had a lot more planned that were even more summery) even with the cold weather (while I wore my coat :)) I'm looking forward to the warmer weather and shooting outside again. I miss it. I've been trying to learn tons about Photoshop. Whoever made the program is genius. Seriously. Michelle what do you think?? BE VERY honest. Don't I have cute nieces.... I LOVE the last one of libby... I told her to "work it" because she knows she hot.... she liked that. Oh, and these are the before any edits (straight from my camera) and after amazing photoshop.

So meet Leah. Super cute girl. Pregnant with #2 . Her first is almost 2 and is a boy. This is a girl. Very exciting. I have been doing portraits for Leah and her family for a few years now and love shooting them. It is such a relaxing time to get to visit with Leah and catch up. She was in the class above me in school and we worked together at the Cross Cancer Institute (when I used to actually go to work). Kind of miss the work days (but at the same time- not really). I feel so lucky and blessed to be able to stay at home with my kids. I would not trade it for anything. Beautiful baby bump Leah. Hope you like these!

I know, I know, I've been really lame at my blog lately. I've been away at WPPI in Vegas cramming my head with loads of photography knowledge. I've been home now for a few days and trying to process and apply everything that I have learned. Of course, I now want to buy millions of dollars of equipment (which drives my husband nuts). Photography is EXPENSIVE and it is really hard because I LOVE it... I'd better get saving because my magic money tree is fading away. My next on the list is a new lens, and body (camera body that is). I just want to upgrade from mine. It was fun in Vegas to meet up with girls that I had not known before this conference. It is really fun to hang out with such creative people who have the same passion as you.

Ok so here Sarah are the 3 photos that you have been so patiently waiting for a LONG time. Remember I was in Vegas for a few days, my kids are driving me a little crazy lately (anyone else's kids acting crazy lately- I don't know what it is?! ), and my husband's dental practice is to open in less than a month (and we-well really he- has SOOO much to do). I'm a little busy. Yes, but aren't we all? Let me know what you think so we can get your beautiful canvasses printed!

The past while I have have Michelle Kane mentor me with photoshop skills. Holy MAN, she is good. You should check her out. She is seriously so gifted and super nice too. So here is my husband and I's (more of my husband's) new adventure. We are currently in the process of purchasing this Dental Practice in Camrose, Alberta. My husband has looked at a bunch over the last year and nothing really stood out to him. As soon as we both saw this place, inside and out, we both loved it. I love it for the fact that it is cute inside, full of character and antiques (awesome for my photography) and of course my husband loves it for it's dental awesomeness. More pictures in the future. LAS VEGAS!!! and Valentines

So I'm officially going to WPPI Las Vegas! SOOO excited! EEEEEE Well, I've officially been going for about 2 weeks but I have not posted it. WPPI stands for Wedding and Portrait Photographers international for those of you who don't know. I'm so looking forward to LEARNING more and more and more photography. I could learn it all day, everyday. I hope to come back with new inspiration, techniques and knowledge to provide even better portraits for my clients. I'm meeting up with 3 other girls that I only know though facebook or friends. I'm meeting Jenny Alston; Imajen Portrait Art, Jenny sister, and Shellie Secreten; TNT Photography. They are all amazing photographers and I'm looking forward to staying with them. This is SO not like me but I'm doing it. I'm flying alone as well. Very scary. I'm sure it will be super easy though since I'm used to flying with 2 strollers, 3 car seats, about 7 bags of luggage, 3 screaming kids and being stripped down while carrying all of this (because you know I'm going to smuggle some drugs down my kids pants- awesome). It is like 2 1/2 weeks away. My sweet mother in law is coming up to watch my kids. They are really excited she is coming. I kind of wish she would come already because they ask how many more sleeps everyday and it is driving me a little crazy. They really like her. I better get my baby sleeping though the night. These are my son's valentines that I said I would post. I love doing stuff like this. My son Rylen's Valentines Day party at school is tomorrow. It should be fun. The picture on this Valentine below I'm in the process of getting it printed in a 24 by 36 canvas to go above my love seat in my office.

I don't know if you can see but Rylen did print his name above, he doesn't press very hard. CUTE!

Well, these are my latest. My son's valentine goodie bags. I got the bags from Michaels Craft store for $3.50 and then got the candy inside from the Bulk Barn in south Common. I have to say that I like that store a lot (not so much today because Ansen was screaming his head off because he wanted every candy in the store and I was denying him them- I'm sure everyone thought I was a super mom-I love shopping with my kids- I wanted to hide under a rock). I Love Bulk....

I love a lot of things lately. I am doing Rylen and Ansen's Valentines this year.

I was just going through my pictures on my computer and found these. I was reading Rebekah Westover's blog (she is an amazing photographer by the way-LOVE HER) and totally agreeing with her in that, pictures are no good just sitting on your computer or on memory cards. GET THEM PRINTED!!! That is my goal this next month- to get all my photos of my kids on my cards off them, into prints, and into albums (even if the pictures are not good)... they are still my cute little babies.

My kids are ALWAYS the worst behaved during my shoots, the worst. Today, I thought it would be different. I bribed them with cupcakes and ice cream- a pretty good bribe. They promised me they would listen to me. As soon as I got behind the camera, craziness. I was so annoyed. Can you tell they were bad? They look like angels.. but they are CRAZY! I love them though and they are just kids so they are allowed to be out of control. Well, they didn't get ice cream or cupcakes.... timeouts instead.

Ok Boys. Stop growing!!! I realized the other day that I'm always taking pictures of other people's kids and not my own... so right then.. I grabbed them all, ran downstairs and shot these before they got any older. I need to do better at shooting for of my kids- It is not fun taking their pictures... well, Shoal it is because he is always happy an he is not very fast yet. The other boys, not fun. The photoshoot lasts for about 2 minutes and that is with a sweet chocolate bribe too. It usually ends in crying because I took too long or I'm making them do something they don't want to do. They will thank me when they are older right?! Maybe not, they are boys.... they probably won't care, but their wives will.

Congrats Kitta and Steve....

So one day when I was working with Kitta at the Cross Cancer Institute... I say, "So, you remind me of someone so much, the way you talk, look, and everything... " Kitta: "Oh, really who?"...

Then I say the name of the guy (yes a guy- kitta you don't talk like or look like a guy don't worry). Kitta was like, "That's my cousin!" OK VERY WERID. My husband was best friends with her cousin in high school and we still hang out with them a ton. Small world.

This couple... so cute... and kitta .. your baby belly is sooo cute... I'm excited to meet your little asian man.... I love them.

I've been so busy with family and the holidays, you? Merry Christmas and Happy new year! I love Christmas time. Our family had a nice relaxing Christmas. I always love new presents for my kids because they are occupied and not bugging me. I love it. My little Baby Shoal is getting too big for my liking. He brings happiness wherever he is. Walking down the mall, in the grocery store, doesn't matter where, he is smiling at everyone. Sometimes is get annoying because I have to stop and talk with everyone while they talk with Shoal and it takes a loooonnngg time to do anything. The other day in Walmart, 6 people stopped and chatted with Shoal, not really me, just my baby. Weird?

The winner of my free photoshoot is Sonnia (from work).... yes!!! YAY!~ If you check my blog, email me, if not, I will email you. I'm sure you will be super excited since you are expecting.

Oh, and my sister had a baby. Adelade Kae I think... I should know... Doesn't matter. She is so precious and small. She was born December 26th at 9:45pm and weighed 7lbs 14 ounces and is soooo little (just remember Shoal was 10lbs 3 ounces so anything compared to him is little)... I loved holding her.

It is finally done! A long time in progress and really needed. My husband is sure glad that I'm done so that he can have me back at night. Hope you enjoy it and it makes everyone of my clients lives easier. My favorite part about it is you can now VIEW your pictures on my website with a password and CHOOSE them online too! All of those clients who have had sessions within the last month, I will be emailing you shortly with your password to view your pictures. Some other good and exciting news, my website will be up and running in less than 1 week. It has taken me many hours and MANY late nights. Sorry Jordan (this is my husband-he is so supportive). I've got it to the point now where it is functional. The best part about it, you don't have to come to my house anymore to view your pictures! You can do it at home and on your own time. YAY! Ok, How in the world am I still shooting outside? Middle of November and no snow? We are sooo lucky!!! This is such a beautiful family, there are too many good ones.. you guys, oh man, are going to have a hard time choosing. This is what happens when you have awesome subjects to photograph.

Ok. So. Over the next few days I'm going to be putting more pictures up of what my canvas prints look like. I'm still working on my websight. There are TOO MANY IDEAS in my head.. I can't seem to get it together... soon though.. I'll let everyone know my new address. My new blog should be up sooner though. They will both function WAY better than this blog. I'm very excited. So about Christmas Cards.... think about them now! Yes, it is only November but wouldn't it be nice if they were just done soon and you didn't have to think about them during the holiday season and you could just enjoy your holiday time and not have to stress. So Pretty much leave it all to me. You can get a portrait session done of your children, family, couples, etc. by me or just send me your favourite pictures of the year that you want to use for your card (I will do my best to touch up any photos that were not taken in studio). These are now on CARDSTOCK PAPER not photo paper. They are 4 by 6 folded cards and are $2.50 per card. There will be designs on the front and the back of the folding card. The first image is the front, and the second image of the set, is the back.... the insides are blank and white.

They come in increments of 25 ....... 25, 50, 75 and so on. If you want 40 cards, you must get 50. The Latest you can order Cards and get them in time for christmas is Dec. 8.

Rene and I went to Post Secondary School together and now she has a son, Justin, who is soooo cute. I'm very jealous because he just whines when he crys.... which he would probably never get heard at my house of 3 boys- maybe that is why Shoal can cry so loud- so I hear him over my other crazies. New websight, new camera, new pricing, new products. Lots is changing with UrbanAlli right now. I'll keep you updated with more info as I get it together. Does anyone else find it hard to juggle your hobbies, life, children, home etc? There is seriously not enough time in one day. Today I actually decided to have a nap instead of doing my "things" that I'm always doing. It was well soooo nice!

I'm starting to offer Canvas Prints now. They are so awesome!! If only I had unlimited wall space, these are soon going to fill my space up. They come in pretty much any size you want and are SO beautiful. They are very professional looking and turn your images into art for your home.

You can also get different finishes and mounting with your photos and custom framing as well!!! I can't wait to put up the frames for you to see in my home and on my websight as well. They are vintage, modern, and elegant all in one. My websight is in the works so this blog will have to do until then.

Thinking of Christmas??? Do it now before there is no more time. Frames, Canvas, and family sessions are wonderful gifts. I'm currently booking for mid November and will not do any sessions after Dec 15th until the new year.

Something funny. Rylen wanted to go and see his cousin parker in Lethbridge yesterday. I told him it was too far of a drive and we were not going to go right then. My little boy is growing up too fast! Today was Rylen's first day of Preschool and he loved it. He has been asking for a week now, "do we go to school today?". He looked so cute with his little back pack and ready to go. I'm a little sad for Ansen though. Rylen and Ansen are like twins- they play ALL the time together. For Ansen it is going to hard losing his other half. Ansen said while sobbing in the car when we dropped Rylen off, "mom, we LOST rylen".... it was cute but I was a little sad for him. Cheers to a new school year, glad I don't have to go.

So I went to a new area to shoot some pictures to check it out- an old Abandoned farm. The red barns and old truck pulled me there- it was kind of creepy though. I asked the neighbors whose farm it was but I guess they don't live here. Yes, I was trespassing but the barns were so cute I had to. Ansen came as my little model. I can always count on him (as long as I have candy). I was scared the whole time I was going to get busted. I'm going back tomorrow for another family shoot- hope all goes well and I don't get caught. Oh I'm so bad. So we are landscaping our yard lately and I am so loving picking trees and shrubs. Who would have thought I would have liked this so much. If only I had a million dollars to spend on landscaping- ahhhhh... that would be awesome.

I was VERY excited to use my new props. I bought them as soon as my son Shoal was born hoping they would arrive quickly but 8 weeks later my baby has grown into a giant and my stuff still has not shown up. The girl forgot to send it! So I got it when he was 2 months old and even though I tried to stuff him in- he just looked dumb and hated me for it. Thank you Claire and Tom for letting me use Oliver as my baby for my new props... he is Adorable!!!

So my Mom and Dad came up for a visit this weekend and brought my Mill and Mix that I inherited from my Grandma. Wow, what a treat. Have you ever seen one? They are quite special. It is so nice looking that I display it in my basement. It also weighs more than me. Hey, I shouldn't mock it, it makes sweet bread- now I look like a real homemaker. I can even make whole wheat flour from grinding wheat, or cornmeal from corn, the list goes on.... thanks grandma! My sister took my Mother shopping to get her a "non-grandma" shirt- since we wanted to get pictures done. I don't they they have EVER got a portrait done together. It is time. I really need to get one with Jordan now. Does someone want to take my picture?? It is hard being the photographer because you never come out from behind the camera.
